I had had no symptoms and was aged 53 so it was all a bit of a shock. After consultations with a local urologist which frankly left me with a gloomy outlook for my future it very quickly became clear to me that my best course of action would be to seek treatment from a prostate cancer specialist and I was lucky enough to be recommended to Professor Eden by a friend who had also developed prostate cancer at a relatively young age. From the outset I felt in safe hands and I was given the reassurance and support that is so vital for anyone who has to go through this experience.
My surgery and subsequent management from Professor Edens' team was faultless and I was back at work fit and with no complications in three weeks.
8 years later I am fit and well with an undetectable PSA. I feel very lucky to have had such a good outcome in all ways and to have been fortunate enough to be treated by an outstanding leader in his field.
